The subject of this paper is the role of supreme audit institutions in achieving sustainable agriculture. Sustainable agriculture refers to ensuring food security and mitigating the negative impacts of agriculture on the environment. Governments around the world adopt various policies and strategies to promote sustainable agriculture. SAIs can audit the fulfillment of national goals, to check whether the government provides sufficient, safe and nutritious food, affordable for all, and whether food is produced in a sustainable way, without serious impacts on environmental resources.
