Review flow
- The author submits their paper (original or revised text) to the editorial office.
- The editorial secretary forwards the submitted paper to the responsible editor.
- The editorial board conducts a preliminary assessment of the paper.
- If the preliminary assessment is negative, the editor informs the author via email.
- Papers with a positive preliminary assessment are sent to reviewers*.
- Reviewers submit their review report and opinions to the editor.
- The editor considers the reviewers' opinions and makes the final decision**.
- The final decision is communicated to the author and the reviewers.
- The editor periodically reports to the Publishing Council members about the progress and status of reviews.
Notes:
*The first round of review is for the original text, and the second round of review is for the revised text.
**The final decision can also be made after one round of review.
All submitted papers are sent for assessment to the responsible editor. The responsible editor, after an initial evaluation of the text, makes decisions about further procedures, namely:
- a) which manuscripts to reject,
- b) which manuscripts to return to the author with suggestions, recommendations, and comments for improvement before sending them for review,
- c) which manuscripts to send for review.
The editor's decision is communicated to the authors via email.
Upon acceptance of the manuscript for review, authors are required to sign a Statement of Authorship and Copyright, which they send via email to the editors. By signing, the author confirms the originality of their submission (manuscript) and asserts their authorship.
Manuscripts submitted for review are evaluated by at least two anonymous peer reviews. Anonymity in the peer-review process means that the reviewers do not know the identity of the authors, nor do the authors know the identity of the reviewers. The editor takes particular care to ensure that reviewers are not affiliated with the same institution as the authors. The reviewer is required to disclose any potential conflicts of interest before accepting the review assignment and to flag any possible breaches of ethical standards in the manuscript. After the peer review process, if requested by the reviewers, the manuscript is returned to the authors for revision.
Papers sent for review are subjected to at least two anonymous reviews. Anonymity means that reviewers do not know who the authors of the paper are, nor do the authors know who the reviewers are. After the review process, if requested by the reviewers, the paper is sent back to the authors for revision. If there are any comments from the reviewers, they are communicated to the author after receiving both reviews. In addition to considering the reviewers' comments and suggestions, authors are required to provide a cover letter outlining the changes made in the paper and the pages where the changes have been made. The corrected paper and cover letter are sent to the editor. When the author submits the revised paper, it is sent back to the reviewers for review.
In situations where reviewers disagree on their proposals regarding the publication and/or categorization of the paper, the final decision is made by the editor-in-chief.
Based on the reviewers' recommendations, papers are categorized into four categories:
1) Original scientific paper containing unpublished results of original scientific research;
2) Review scientific paper providing an original, concise, and critical overview of a field, contributing in light of previously published works;
3) Preliminary communication of an original scientific paper containing new research results that are useful to publish quickly; and
4) Professional paper containing useful contributions from the profession and for the profession, not necessarily representing original scientific research.
5) Scientific critique, polemic, and similar
6) Presentation of a book, scientific event, case and the like, with a special emphasis on the quality of the subject of presentation.
7) Informative contribution such as editorial, commentary, and similar.
Co-authors are contacted and asked to confirm their contribution to the submitted paper.
Upon request, the author can be issued a corresponding certificate regarding the status of their paper.
According to COPE guidelines, all manuscripts received for review must be treated as confidential documents. Reviewers must not share the review or information about the review with anyone without the editor's and author's consent. This applies both during and after the publication process.
Each paper is assigned its UDK and DOI number.
For each paper, the submission date, the revised paper submission date, and the acceptance date for publication are recorded.
Reviewers can be rewarded with a review certificate for their work.
