Upravljanje rizikom od pojave korupcije u sektoru odbrane postaje sve aktuelnija tema. Ovo pitanje još više dobija na značaju kada se uzme u obzir da je vojska u mnogim zemljama vlasnik imovine, infrastrukture, industrijskih objekata i drugih oblika resursa, tako da ti oblici vojnog vlasništva mogu imati snažan komercijalni karakter, što, načelno govoreći, može da podstakne razne organizacije privatnog sektora da putem različitih mehanizama usmeravaju javne nabavke u željenom pravcu. Saznanja do kojih se došlo u radu ukazuju na to da je korupcija u sektoru odbrane veoma kompleksno pitanje i tema kojoj se nije posvetila dovoljna akademska pažnja. Takođe, došlo se do uvida da efikasna interna revizija uz snažnu podršku interne kontrole može u velikoj meri da predupredi nastanak koruptivnih radnji.
